After Braunschweig we continued our trip to Berlin, Germany. For me, it was my seventh visit to this city. Despite the fact I’ve been there a few times, I still haven’t seen everything there is to see. This time we visited the Olympic Stadium. I can cross that off my list of things to see and do. Berlin is a great city, with lots of history. There’s something for everyone. If you like luxurious things, you can go shopping in the Kadewe (department store), the Kurfürstendamm or the Friedrichstrasse. There are many alternative shops and bars in Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain, and Prenzlauer Berg is my favourite place to go out for dinner.
What else did we do? Besides visiting several cemeteries (yes, I always do that on holiday…), we did some urban exploring light, saw lots of awesome street art (another good reason to visit!), went to the David Bowie exhibition at Martin-Gropius-Bau, watched some World Cup football matches, and just walked around enjoying everything Berlin has to offer.
These candy machines can be found all throughout the city. I keep photographing them…
For 2 euros you can use the Photo Automat, where you will get a strip of four pictures. I have quite a collection. 🙂
The synagoge at the Oranienburger Strasse.
El Bocho is one of my favourite street artists.
Checkpoint Charlie at the Friedrichstrasse
One of the few original pieces of the Berlin wall
These were shot with my Olympus OM-1n on Kodak Elitechrome 200 and Agfa Precisa CT, and my Olympus XA on DM Paradies 400 home made dishwasher film.
What a coincidence. I wrote about my visit to Berlin 30 years ago last week on my blog today. I got to see a lot of the Wall and photographed it with a lousy 110 camera.

Love the photo automat. Whenever I see one I have to stop and get my photo taken . Here they cost $5.00 for a strip of 4. As a kid we paid 25 cents. How about there?

Love this series, especially Jack Nicholson, the couple kissing, the signs and of course Checkpoint Charlie. I got my passport stamped there for fun a few years ago. I like Berlin immensely
