Hello … remember me? I have fallen behind a bit in my rolls of film and posting. Yikes. That happens quickly, doesn’t it? Do not fret, I shall return. The light and air of summer has me in her grasp. There is still film to be shot and developed so I will catch back up to the hurried pace of a roll a week soon. Life doesn’t stop just for a camera, does it?
Here’s my latest roll of film, it was a roll of Kodak Ultramax 400 on 35mm. Again, I shot with my trusty EXA. I can’t say these were the best shots, though. I messed it up and didn’t rewind the film properly so I lost more than half the roll. Totally my error, AGAIN. That’s what I get for being in a hurry. DOH!
My family went camping in northern California at Lassen Volcanic National Park and we attended the astronomy festival. There was much, much, MUCH fun had and I would go back to that park in a heartbeat. If you ever get the chance, it is well worth the detour from wherever you are going.
This is what I saved/salvaged/am willing to post:

Bumpass Hell is a natural hot spring area with volcanic sulfur pools. Very beautiful, very dangerous.

Thanks … the damage from opening the camera too early and some heavy editing after scan made for a decent effect. Although it was completely accidental. ha!

I have to join the club and say my favorite shot is the junior ranger swearing in ceremony. I agree with you: I much prefer Northern California to Southern. But I suppose I am partisan being born and raised in San Francisco — the perfect training city for moving to New York eons ago.

I think you are on to something with SF being NY-lite. hmmm … that might make a good Billy Joel song or something
