Two rolls of Delta 100 that had dates in May marked on them…just sitting on my desk, so I decided to see what I had shot for that week. Sorry for my absence, I promise that I will be here for the rest of the year. First, before I post some images from these rolls, I had no idea Xtol was such a great developer…I bought a packet earlier this year, then about 4 months ago I bought a tank big enough so I could mix the whole 5 Liters, and I wished I would have tried this developer sooner!

Nice shots and results, I’ve not used XTol because of that 5 liter stock mix. I should pony up and get a 5 liter bottle.

Thanks Joe, yeah, that’s one of the things that has kept me from trying it in the past, just having to mix so much of it at one time. If you’re not actively shooting black and white film, it feels like a waste. And then add to the fact that I’m not using it stock (I’m doing either 1:1 or 1:2), and that makes it feel like it’s going to last forever.

I like Xtol a lot. I use a plastic 5 liter plastic Gerry can to store it. Cost next to nix. It keeps fairly well, but I use it quickly. Before that I stored in empty plastic sort drink bottles.

I’m trying to go through it as quickly as I can, trying to find out what films and ratios I like best, Delta 100 is a winner, and I suspect that Delta 400 will be just as good. I like Tri-x in it as well.

I use it often with TMax at 1:2 mixed with Rodinal at 1:100 or 1:200 at the times for Xtol.
