Once a year there’s a tricycle race down Queen Anne hill in Seattle. This time, I brought along a Canon A2E SLR with a 50mm lens.
We start at one pub at the top of the hill, and the racers ride down the hill to another pub. Its not a competition, though awards are given out for creativity & effort.
The tricycles are often home-made improvised vehicles. I was most impressed by one made from a dolly, a snow sled & bike parts.
The turnout this year was not nearly as many participants as past years, but its about having fun, and you don’t need a crowd for that.
Here’s more photos (digital), if you’re interested.

What a load of great photos – in digital too. Looks like a lot of fun. I like that there is an opportunity for anesthetizing prior to setting off – there must be some painful spills. And that dolly bike is a work of creative genius.
