It’s a long story, but my wife was doing some research on Ancestry.com. She discovered that her half-brother, Salim, has relatives in the Yucatan and in Lousiana. It is an amazing thing that she found his living relatives and connected with them. We traveled to New Orleans and Baton Rouge to meet some of them. None of us had been there before.
Despite a few days of soul-crushing humidity, I discovered that I love New Orleans. We also rented a car and drove to Baton Rouge, a typical state capitol city -clean, tidy, slightly boring.
I shot lots of pinhole, but took my Nikon too, mostly for portrait work. I had a 75-200 zoom, but didn’t really use it.
