My name is Disco Foxtrot (nom de guerre). I’m an American who has lived in Germany for more than a decade.
I’m interested in photography of historical places and objects, especially those that may be relatively unknown or mostly forgotten.
This year I’ll be shooting with the Rolleiflex that I inherited from my wife’s grandfather 20 years ago, mostly Tri-X but with some color mixed in as well. I’ll also try to include contact sheets.
You can see some of my recent previous work on my Tumblr (discofoxtrot.com), or follow me on Instagram or Twitter.
Loving the name!

Nice portrait, and I have enjoyed poking around your Tumblr photos. What incredibly complex monuments to the dead! I am looking forward to seeing more.

Thanks! I don’t want to stay with this topic forever, but there’s still some more I want to mine here.

It’s the kind of place you can keep on returning to and seeing some thing new. I think I would gravitate towards macro after a while, there are so many intricate details.

Glad to have you on board! I tried using my Rolleiflex in 2013 but gave up at around 6 months. I still have rolls from back then to develop and scan.

Thanks for the opportunity. It seems like a great community that you’ve built here. And I hope I can make it to six months.

The Rolle was my first medium format camera. Mine belonged to my Dad. Looking forward to the next years work.

They are so compact for a medium format camera. I’m lucky that the meter on mine works as well, so makes a light kit.

My Dad’s didn’t have a meter, but I got pretty good guessing the right exposure under normal conditions.

Hiya, I bought a Microcord MKII to dip my toe into the TLR world…and I lIke it. Only thing it locked up on me today so I think I’ll have to spring for a service. Damn! I wanted to use that camera more on 52 Rolls.
