Week 30: Malin Head

This week, a few a more photographs from our holidays: Malin head, which is the most northerly part of Ireland. Actually it has been used a filming location for the next Star Wars movie, or so I have heard. The next time I see these landscapes will there be spaceships on them?

Here is what Malin head looks like, the concrete structure you can see on the right is an old radio tower. Marconi and friends were making long distance “wireless telegraph” experiments from here.

Here is another view from Malin head looking back inland:

Back towards the coast

And out along the coast. That bit of land is actually Ireland, not Scotland, although further along the coast in Antrim you can, apparently, see a bit of Scotland. The closest part of Scotland to Malin Head is actually Islay ! Alas, there is a lot of water between Malin and a wee dram…

Coastline and clouds

Finally, here is one from the roll of FP4+ taken with my 35mm lens.

That’s it for this week! Next week, back in Paris…

Technical details: all photographs, except where noted, are taken with a Leica M6 with a Summicron-M 50mm. Film is Tri-X developed in HC110 dil. B @ 6.5 mins.
