Japan. As a long-term admirer of the country from afar, I will admit of having some preconceptions about what I was to expect, gladly most were met. The lights, the sights, the scenes, the people.
What I cannot describe in words, I hope some of the feel will be imparted through these pics.
These were shot with the trusty, and resilient Mamiya 645, all hand held on this roll, something the camera can handle well. Im really glad to have carried the unit around, and would do it the same way next time. I was equiped with the Mamiya with an 80mm and 150mm lens, a Nikon FM3A with 24mm lens, and a Olympus EM5 with a 17mm lens, all for various needs. Detail: Mamiya, Versatility and speed: Nikon, unstable light and portability Oly. All in all it work out well, and it definitely slowed down the pace, but its fit me just fine. Dont take this road if you need to be agile and have places to be.
Stay tuned as more are coming, as I averaged over a roll a day over the 14 days spent over Japan. Tokyo, Kyoto, Hiroshima and Osaka all make a guest appearance.
I have over 18 rolls shot, but have developed only 6 to date with more coming but will endeavour to upload as time allows.
