Week 3: A quick Yashica 635 post

I pick up a lot of interesting cameras, fix them if needed, play with them a while and then pass them on for a little extra ‘funny money’ to buy new challenges. My wife and I found a Yashica 635 dual 120/35 mm TLR at an antique store and I spent several hours cleaning and fiddling with the shutter until I had it working consistently. It’s a really nice camera and unique. The 35mm adapter kits are available on ebay but I decided that it wasn’t worth the trouble to get one and wasn’t sure it would make that great a 35mm anyway. It takes great pictures and reminds me a lot of the Yashica D I sold to a young photographer friend of  mine. Before I parted with it I took a couple of rolls and am posting a few of the best pics. I’m passing it on to a friend this weekend who collects and appreciates and shoots with oldies like this one.

    • Thanks. Same here. The Yashica was a marvelous camera but between my wife and I there are at least 30 that are always wanting to be taken for a walk. I sold it to a friend of mine who mostly collects and appreciates unusual gear.
