28 / 52 weeks.. Galilee

Spent a day down in Galilee this week, Narragansett, Rhode Island. Loaded a roll of ilfordpanf50 into the Hassey and put on a yellow filter and did some walking on this very warm day. Couldn’t wait to get home and develop this roll … I don’t know if it was me or the roll… but I had the hardest time getting the roll of film on the spool. This has never happened before… it seemed liked the roll was bigger, I know, it wasn’t… I would get it started on the spool… then it would get messed up and stop .. and I had to take it out and start over again. Usually this takes a couple of minutes and good to go… but not today…. it probably took me about 30-45 minutes to finally get the film on the spool to develop….I almost just threw it out because at this point I knew the roll was a mess from all the trying to get on spool…well they came out and I was right… there was mess from all the bending of not going on spool correctly… spent a lot of time in photoshop getting the lines and extra dust out .. but managed to save a few…the other shots were just beyond help to fix. Has anyone had this problem before? I’m sure it was just me…but couldn’t understand why as this has never happened before. Hopefully not again. Thanks for looking, peace.

  1. Lovely images. I had a similar problem years ago, then read an article suggesting that cleaning the spiral after each use with an old toothbrush and making sure it was bone dry before using it again. It worked for me. :>)
