15-45: A bit more Copenhagen

We have fallen in love with the kolonihavehuser or Garden Colony Houses in Denmark.  My mother in law’s apartment was near several colonies and we spent a lot of time walking around in them dreaming of owning one and moving to Denmark on every trip. They are so varied in style and design but they…

15-41 Getting out of the apartment

We had to take many trips out and about just to get out of the apartment while take care of affairs and sorting through Lene’s things. One of our favorite things to do in Copenhagen are the weekend loppemarkeder or flea markets.  The one in Fredericksberg is the largest (at least most crowded) and has…

15-40 Copenhagen is under construction

Continuing a series from our trip to Denmark. More construction and a harbor swimming area.  We are seated just below the building in the next photo. The next shot is from preparing for the memorial service. My kids are so very bored and can’t understand the language here. Not far outside of the city are…

15-39 Tivoli

I feel like my pictures from Denmark this year are part of a series because they are all taken in the shadow of my mother in law’s passing. I suppose they always will feel that way to me.  These photos must look like happy vacation photos to others while are trying to entertain our just…

15-38 The worst.

At this point I am in mid to late summer in my rolls as I go through and post them skipping many that are just not that interesting.  I have developed  and scanned over 110 so far this year and have a few more yet. Starting now, the rolls are from a trip to Denmark…

15-37 Neighborhood Walk.

We went for a walk and there was some interesting sky and lighting. You can’t miss a firetruck with two kids. A very nice fireman offered and he said “Yes!” Just a cool door we saw on the walk. Roll of Acros 100 out for a test run. It was a nice evening.

Roll 15-36: Warm Weather Fun

Back in July, I think, there were moments where we didn’t feel like life was going to squash us and I got some shots that reflect that feeling. Porta (the film) helps, such an awesome film.  I skipped a roll for 52 rolls that was Portra just because it was kinda boring for the web,…

roll: 15-35 More 1960s Tri-X testing

I am still attempting to master the use of some old film, these are the best exposures from this roll. Aside from the grain, they aren’t too bad. Having two small boys,  I get sucked into the excitement at the site of a garbage truck. This would make a nice diptych with the urine sample…

15-34: Expired Tri-X and Diafine

Another roll and a new developer.  Diafine was suggested by Leslie Lazenby from the Film Photography Project to help with shadow detail and is known for pushing EI. I still think HC110 may be better. This shot needs cleaning up, but I really like the feeling it conveys.
