Week 4 – Couple of cameras

I’ve been inundated with gear! That’s ok with me but these last few rolls have been testers for these rad cameras so the pics are nothing special. First off are some shots from the wonderful Leica clone, the FED 2. The rangefinder is spot on and the diopter function for the viewfinder is really, really nice to have. Pretty janky lens though but it has a certain something I think.

This camera feels like a tank and kinda shoots like one too:

I scored the classic Pentax K1000 for a couple bux the other day and, unfortunately, the hot shoe doesn’t work and neither does the light meter. This might be a good daylight, rough and tumble kinda shooter. I’m pretty keen on it. I slapped a 28mm lens on it and yeah, works good, but considering how classic and well regarded these are, I’m not surprised.

  1. Yey for the Fed 2, I have a green one as well! The only thing I don’t like about it is the very small viewfinder. Your lens is a really bad copy though, I have both an Industar f2.8 and a Jupiter 8 f2 50mm that give much better pictures (more Leica, less Lomo). If you like the camera, it might be worth picking up a better lens for relatively cheap.
